Selection for Slaughter Technical Training Courses
These are provided either through the direct relationship with abattoirs for their customers or through the devolved bodies (i.e. AHDB, QMS, HCC) in order to enhance the selection process of live animals to meet buyer specifications, thus maximising producer returns.
In recent years these courses have formed part of the AHDB Beef and Lamb ‘ Better Returns ‘ programme, with Live to Dead courses being held for livestock produces at abattoirs.
Abattoir Classification Training
One to one or team programmes of training in the assessment of carcases to meet EU classification requirements are provided both in the UK and overseas. In recent years MLCSL provided training services to the Romanian government to set up a beef carcase classification system to meet its EU requirements.
